Let me start off my saying this took some time to put together. The pieces didn't have guide holes like many (cheaper?) toys do, and all we had was a screwdriver. So you'll need a little elbow grease for this baby ;) It took my husband and I a couple tries to get the base and microwave cabinet in the right position so that the countertop would "snap" (It doesn't actually snap, by the way. It slides in and doesn't raise, but you won't hear a snap of any kind. This step got us and we thought we were doing it wrong because we didn't hear anything.) However, once it is assembled it's pretty sturdy, I think. The cabinets don't have a lot of space, so my 18 month-old gets frustrated that she can't fit everything in there. (She likes to put her play food boxes from the American Plastics Shopping Cart in the cabinets too.) She LOVES the burner sounds, but the phone and microwave sounds are too quiet to interest her at this point, though she does love pushing the buttons. Overall, this seems to be a fun toy for my toddler, as she spends a lot of time "washing" dishes, putting away her food and getting mommy and daddy drinks from the faucet.
