Getting your website on the front page of search engines is extremely valuable. This book provides an overview of the various methods used to improve search engine ranking and then shows you how to develop your strategy into a monthly to-do list.

None of the search engine optimization methods are difficult or overly technical, all are easily accomplished by any web author. The key is to apply a broad range of the various methods to create an overall strategy. The book provides you with the big picture of different methods in use today, what tools are available, and how (and why) to use them.

You may have used some of the tools and methods described in this book. In fact, most web authors are probably using many of the tools available. This book allows you to identify any search optimization strategies which you may be missing or overlooking.

This book helped me put together a web marketing and SEO strategy to best take advantage of free search engine links (organic links). The value of using the techniques in this book will have long term benefits as the search engine rankings of my site improve.

This book provides a few good fundenmental tips for SEO. The book is written in plain language, very easy to follow. However, for advanced SEO techniques, Integrated Search Marketing Solution & Organic Search: Search Engine Optimization, Social Media, and Email Marketing: Winning Formula for SERP Dominance is a good SEO book for cross-reference when building your business website. It teaches you how to implement on-page, off-page and server-side optimization to boost up the SEO competency of your website. For example, it teaches the readers about how to implement tactical link building to become the center of an authoritative hub and deploy facet navigation and page segmentation. It also shows the readers how to avoid duplicate content, the tactics to deploy 301 redirect, and the SEO practices of exception handling and the adoption of custom 404 error page to increase visitor retention rate, and how to increase content / code ratio as well as the programming techniques to boost the web performance. The benefits won't just stop here. It also presents plenty of tips for email marketing. First, my bias. SEO is largely a dull, tedious business in my opinion. I don't suggest you commit to it unless you're passionate about something--your product, your service, your audience. There are easier ways to make a living than building a successful website. But if you are passionate, there's no better way to build long-term success than SEO.

Matt and I worked together several years at Bing Ads, mostly with small and medium business customers. His interest in the SMB segment is evident in the book. It's a self-help book for the small business owner, a guide to guerilla SEO if you can't afford a hired gun. His step-by-step, no nonsense approach will be invaluable to people with too little time, too little money, and too much to do.

The key to web marketing is knowing your audience and providing them something they value. No book can help you with that but this book will help you with everything that follows.

My business partner and I recently launched a tour operation business. As anyone who has launched a start-up can attest, especially for the first time, it can be difficult to know how to maximize every dollar and how to determine the most effective places to invest time and limited resources. Matthew Davidson's book provides simple, easy to understand, step-by-step instructions that will guide your SEO plan that you can immediately begin implementing - for free! He also explains just how valuable SEO is for anyone who may be skeptical about investing time and energy into the effort. It's important and you'll quickly understand why.

I have never read a step-by-step book that provided guidance for immediate and proven action like this before. Before reading the book, I was familiar with the idea of SEO and some of the general needs such as backlinks, directory listings, blogs, etc. But I have discovered a lot of snake oil salesman (or rather they found me) but Davidson provides links to the most reputable (and free!) sites and tools available to earn higher search engine rankings that will prove invaluable.

I just finished the book, and I'm off to work. Fortunately, I do not need to start all over because Davidson's book is useful even though I've already created and published our website. I simply wish I had read the book sooner so I could have begun our SEO sooner. With SEO you cannot wait to begin and this book is an amazing tool (at an incredibly fair price) that will get you started immediately.

SEO seems to generally be talked about in very broad and vague terms. This book breaks things down into practical steps that you can do. I found the section about keyword research quite helpful.

This book is probably not what you want if you're knowledgeable on the subject already, so keep that in mind. Also, I was a bit skeptical about some techniques. The author does a good job of explaining his impressive background though, so what do I know?

It would have been even more helpful for me if this book was written with an eye towards wordpress-based blogs. Most techniques apply, but it seems to be geared more towards "static" sites. Maybe that would be a good sequel?
