I was expecting this to be very simple to assemble when it arrived, but not only does it need to be screwed together, but there are no guide holes on the parts, so inserting the screws and getting the desk assembled effectively is a bit of a chore.
The unit, once built, is sturdy enough and has more than enough cubby holes for all my daughter's pens and pencils, etc, but the lift-up desk part looks really flimsy and will prpobably break within a couple of months of opening and closing.

This is just great you can kick it jump on it do all the things you shouldnt do with a kids toy, but you can ! it that strong so you will have this toy years down the road, now thats good in itself

The age range on this desk says up to 7 years. When I bought it I thought for sure my son would be an okay size for it but after putting it together it was obvious he wouldn't get much use of it. My son is almost 4 and already 43" tall, so he's taller than most kids his age. However, with the manufacturer claiming up to age 7, I think most kids over 4 would be too big for this desk. My son just seems "crammed" when he is sitting there working, plus there isn't a ton of actual work space. Keep this in mind if you are considering this desk.

I bought this for my daughter last Christmas, she was 1 1/2 at the time. She loves to draw and color on everything. Not only does this get used daily, but when she colored all over it inside and out all I needed was a baby wipe to clean it off.

My daughter recieved this last year for Christmas. She literally uses it every day! It has an adorable little light & she feels like a big girl at her desk. It isn't too large & doesn't take up much space. My only "negative" comment is the batteries are difficut to access. I recommend it despite the battery issue.
