I got this for my daughter 2.5 years ago and two children and much play later it's still going strong, the light stopped working, but I was quite relieved at that as it got through 4 AA batteries at a time on a 2 weekly basis. It's very sturdy and well made, one of the best toys I've brought.

This is a fantastic item, that provides hours of entertainment that will also last for years! I was so excited waiting for it to arrive, simply because I knew how excited the kids would be when they saw it. Takes a wee bit of time to put it together, but nothing drastic and worth it to be sure that it wont fall apart! Our kids (Daughter aged 4.5yrs and son age 14mths) like to incorperate it into nearly every game at some point either togeter, individually or with friends.
It encourages their sense of imagination as well as a real sense of the world around them during role play - helping the gain confidence and understanding.
Super sturdy structure, nothing's broken yet and thats with a wee man who just has to climb and stand on things - ie the oven door or draws, although we dont encourage this.
The kitchen undercounter light works and all appliances have sounds, our kids especially love the phone and the 'boiling' and 'sizzling' on the cooker. although requires quite a few batteries, it can still provide just as much fun without!
I highly rate this, wish it had crossed my mind sooner!

This was my two-year-old daughters main present for Christmas and she loved it, so much so that she hardly opened any other presents because she kept going back to her kitchen!
Its realistic looking and the sounds it makes are fun (the frying pan sizzles and the pot bubbles) and the reason I bought this particular Step2 model was because of all the cupboards and drawers as my daughter already had lots of play pans and food, so it was somewhere to store them all.
The only niggle I had was the fact that it said minimal adult assembly required, it took almost two hours to set it up completely, but the fact that my daughter enjoys playing with it everyday tells me it was worth it.
