Cheap, crudely made....and utterly delightful. There really is no excuse for not owning one of these. The kids love it, the wife loves it, the dog...well, not so much. But dogs have no taste.

To play the jaws harp part your teeth and place it against them. Close the lips gently around. If you place it between your teeth it is hard not to get the awful rattling sound that happen when the twanger hits the arms.

Vary the pitch by changing the shape of your mouth. (Try saying Ee-Aw). Try waggling your tongue about for another effect. Blow gently for a louder but rather monotonous sound.

The arms should be as close to the twanger as possible for maximum volume, bend them carefully to achieve this.

The twanger can be hit on the forward or backward stroke. With practice, both.

The picture doesn't do it justice, it's a solidly made and quite pretty instrument - not shown in the image, the handle end is dipped in clear racing green metal dye. Works well, thank you.

Very poor quality, looks very cheap (doesn't look like the photo) and is tiny and came covered in some sort of blue paint which wasn't even neat. Had to throw away.

I should have listened to the advice I read on several websites and bought a better one. This jaw harp barely makes any sound.
