Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

DVD Movie Copy lets you easily create back-up copies of your favourite movies. So if creating back-up copies of DVD movies is your thing, then this is the software to use.

Happily, it's a doddle: with DVD Movie Copy you simply click the mouse and off you go. The software automatically selects the prime compression rate, and also ensures the movie or movie clip will fit onto one DVD-R. Good image quality is ensured by "high quality compression algorithms". A preview function also let's you see what you're getting, if you're feeling impatient. Meanwhile you can also create Photo Video CDs, and HTML photo galleries, capture videos from the Net and suchlike, import most digital formats like AVI and so on, and take your pick from the Track-at-Once, Disk-at-Once, Session-at-Once options.

The possibilities, indeed, are endless. If you had a digital camera, with this software package you could be making copies of your own "film" and giving them to your friends for Christmas. --Sean Thomas

2.0 out of 5 stars Save your money for something better, 20 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: DVD Movie Copy (CD-ROM)
"It does exactly what it says on the tin". That is, if you can get it to work...

I found it buggy, and more to the point, terribly terribly slow - 15 hours just to encode a single movie.

Sure, it fits on a DVD - but I also had other problems

1- Films get "stuttery" towards the end.
2- Chapter points were not preserved, so to get to a specific point in the film you've got to do a picture search
3- I couldn't get any of the 3 DVD players I tried to search at quicker than 2X without hanging and stopping play.
4- This is a biggy - there appears to be ZERO support on their customer support forums. People just post obscenities about the product because they know they can get away with it. Nobody moderates, and nobody supports. Very very poor customer support...

I'd give it a miss - save your money. It doesn't feel like money well spent...

1.0 out of 5 stars a total mess, 12 May 2003

This review is from: DVD Movie Copy (CD-ROM)
i bought this software as it looked easy to make back up copies of my dvd collection wrong.
it is full of glitches, there is no consumer back up for the product and no patches to correct glaring problems with it. the software company has now been swallowed up by pinnical who are not as i understand it, going to produce patches or help with the product.
i waited 17hrs as it copied a dvd only to have it crash at the last minute.then could not get it to work again after that.
i have since returned the product for a refund. i sugest you save your money and buy a better dvd coping program. a very poor show with little to show for your money.

A software package to backup your DVD's ? Yes, when it works !! This package promises much but delivers a lot less. The support for this package is poor. My machine is a 2.5Mhz and it takes 24 hours to convert a disk.
