I was hoping for a steelbook but would settle for a collectors edition. Anyone know if a steelbook will be released? Since the movie didn't make much money I thought they would give us something special. I even bought the book which I thought was great.
I doubt there'll be any sort of collector's edition, partly because it was a flop at the BO, but mainly because it's being released in the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors, who produced the cheapest, most lazily put together and basic Blu-rays possible. Unless it's Lord of the Rings, they don't care about the quality of their output.
Shame really, because Dredd really is a film which deserves more.
A) From the looks of it it's not a steelbook, but a different kind of metal tin, similar dimensions to those old plastic jewel cases that DVDs used to come in. If you look carefully at the artwork on Amazon France you'll see that it's thinner and there appears to be no type on the spine.
B) French discs apparently sometimes have hard French subtitles that you can't turn off.
Personally I'm waiting to see if anywhere gets a proper steelbook - the 1995 Dredd movie got a German steelbook release eventually.
