5.0 out of 5 stars Great 30 Dec 2010

The cable works great. The converter plugs into your controller and both the headphone and mic jacks plug into this converter. The other end of the converter plugs into your TV's headphone jack, and with 3m in length, the cable should reach in most cases.

The main reason i am writing this review though is to help with the issue of not being able to hear other people speaking over xbox live. The solution to this is to firstly, go into your xbox dashboard, select preferences, then play voice through speakers (NOT headphones). Then, whilst in game (For exemplar purposes only, CoD Black Ops) be sure to access the audio options menu and turn the game volume and SFX down, whilst keeping voice volume at a maximum. This should solve your issues with hearing people. I can now hear people in game clearly over gun fire etc after getting the balance of volumes right in the options menu.

Hope this help those confused!

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't game without it! 7 Mar 2011
Colour Name:Black|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This connector will allow you to use a standard PC headset - or even a standard set of headphones and a standalone microphone - with your XBox360. For me this is crucial as I do most of my gaming late at night when my family are asleep, so I can't afford to wake them with the sound from the TV & you can't really wear headphones AND the 360's headset... With this connector, I can now game to my heart's content & my family can have undisturbed sleep at night!

I bought this to connect a set of Sennheiser PC350 headphones / headset to my XBox360. Following the instructions on the description above, the setup and configuration was simple and straightforward - I was up and running in minutes...

The connector itself is robust (if a little square and pointy) and works well with the standard XBox controller. I have now bought a 360 message pad & found to my dismay that this adaptor no longer fits (there are 2 plastic lugs used to hold the adaptor in position - they fit into holes in the bottom of the standard controller, but the holes are missing from the bottom of the chatpad)

Overall, this is a very useful piece of kit - just bear in mind the comment about the chatpad. Beyond that, I'd highly recommend this. It's been worth every penny!

This connector allows you to attach any gaming or computing headset to your TV's headphone socket and your Xbox controller.

Essentially this means you can use any headset with both headphone and microphone jacks and have voice functionality in compatible games (in my case FPS multiplayer); you're not restricted to headsets marketed as Xbox compatible!

Also means if you're a PC gamer you can use your headset for both the PC and Xbox, so enabling you to invest in a decent pair of cans if you so wish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yep, it works fine! 3 Nov 2011
Colour Name:Black
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I got this recently and am now able to use my Corsair headset with my xbox. It's got all the necessary connections to work out of the box and the cables are more than long enough for my needs. Unsure of durability as I've not had it long, but it seems well put together. You'd have to be aggressive with it to break it.

Had to adjust the voice/game volume a bit. Another review says to do this per game but it can be done as a master setting by pressing the guide button and going to the far right tab, then selecting voice.

Only minor downside is that it's not the most comfortable thing to have on the xbox pad. It's quite large and the cables run directly downwards so it can get in the way a bit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very durable 6 Jun 2011
Colour Name:Black|Verified Purchase
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Whilst this product does do what it says (connects a PC headset into your 360) it is not very durable.

After only a couple of months I noticed the 2 plastic bits to keep it in the controller stopped holding as well as they first did, so the microphone port was never properly in, which sometimes meant there was no microphone present to the 360. After 6 months the microphone jack on it that plugs in to the 360 controller snapped right off...
