The SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector makes it possible to use standard stereo PC headsets on your Xbox 360, while using your headsets' microphone. to speak with your friends on Xbox Live.
Below is a small step-by-step guide that will help you setup the Headset Connector:
1. Attach the SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector to your Xbox 360 controller.
2. Connect your stereo headset to SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector.
3. Connect the SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector to your TVs headphone jack.
4. On the Xbox 360 controller, press the Xbox Guide Button and enter.
5. Choose "Personal Settings", select "Voice" and set "Voice Output" to "Play Through Speakers".
The SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector is available in both black and white.

The cable works great. The converter plugs into your controller and both the headphone and mic jacks plug into this converter. The other end of the converter plugs into your TV's headphone jack, and with 3m in length, the cable should reach in most cases.
The main reason i am writing this review though is to help with the issue of not being able to hear other people speaking over xbox live. The solution to this is to firstly, go into your xbox dashboard, select preferences, then play voice through speakers (NOT headphones). Then, whilst in game (For exemplar purposes only, CoD Black Ops) be sure to access the audio options menu and turn the game volume and SFX down, whilst keeping voice volume at a maximum. This should solve your issues with hearing people. I can now hear people in game clearly over gun fire etc after getting the balance of volumes right in the options menu.

This connector will allow you to use a standard PC headset - or even a standard set of headphones and a standalone microphone - with your XBox360. For me this is crucial as I do most of my gaming late at night when my family are asleep, so I can't afford to wake them with the sound from the TV & you can't really wear headphones AND the 360's headset... With this connector, I can now game to my heart's content & my family can have undisturbed sleep at night!
I bought this to connect a set of Sennheiser PC350 headphones / headset to my XBox360. Following the instructions on the description above, the setup and configuration was simple and straightforward - I was up and running in minutes...
The connector itself is robust (if a little square and pointy) and works well with the standard XBox controller. I have now bought a 360 message pad & found to my dismay that this adaptor no longer fits (there are 2 plastic lugs used to hold the adaptor in position - they fit into holes in the bottom of the standard controller, but the holes are missing from the bottom of the chatpad)
Overall, this is a very useful piece of kit - just bear in mind the comment about the chatpad. Beyond that, I'd highly recommend this. It's been worth every penny!

Very useful product, does what it says on the tin works great although my mic is a bit quiet but that is most prob down to the quality of the headset
