this item is not army issue, but a cheap replica. considering you can pick up the "real" british army issue entrenching tool for a similar price i would not recommend this for any body . . . well unless you enjoy paying for a tool that does half the things the "real" product does for the same price.

Looked good, folds up nicely, the only trouble is it also folds up when you try to dig in hard ground. works ok in sand or loose soil but as the locking lugs are made too small to ensure a solid fixing, this spade is only good for the beach.

This shovel is small and compact,i had trouble getting it to remain rigid as there were no instructions,but seller was excellent and contacted me explaining how it works....an excellent emergency shovel to store in your car.

Could do better
It's good value for a new item, but if you want a serious foldable spade, by a NATO item from pretty much any army surplus shop for around £15 - way stronger and much more durable. Read more
