About the Author

Jay Strongman is a renowned international DJ and writer, who has long had an interest in the underground elements of popular culture. Born and bred in the heart of the former British Empire, he first became intrigued by Victorian Science Fiction after seeing the film of H. G. Wells' The Time Machine as a boy. That fascination, coupled with an active interest in subcultures, drew him to Steampunk. Jay lives, together with his wife, actress Julienne Davis, between L.A. and London.

3.0 out of 5 stars Like an exhibition catalogue... 2 Feb 2012

...with all the good and bad that implies.

The good is that it's gorgeous, and showcases the work of some truly inspired creators.

The bad is that there's not much about the actual process of creation, or anything that far beyond the art itself.

Of its type it's excellent - well-produced and full of lovely imagery. For me, it's pretty expensive for something I doubt I'll re-read often, if ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Surprise 15 Aug 2011
Format:Hardcover
I found the Steampunk Bible a bit of a let down, while this book was a pleasant surprise. Exceeded my expectations by far.
Great selection of artist with stunning artwork plus an impressive look into the origins of the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 2 May 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fantastic book, full of top quality photos and illustrations together with an interesting and informative Introduction.
It makes you want to either collect steampunk items or try to make your own ( if only I had the skill and imagination ).

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm sure I'll come back to it frequently.
