Steaming through the South Wales valleys, with some previously unseen photos. The photos are well reproduced and considering their age stand up to close scrutiny (if you're looking for detail). Where the book let's itself down are some of the captions of the locations, they are just inaccurate. But this doesn't detract from the quality photos. If there's a second volume, I shall be queuing for it.
Recommended.

i Was surprised to see another "STEAM IN SOUTH WALES" Book title after Bradford and Barton books published in the 1970s.
i Ordered the book and was amazed at the quality of the colour photographs, Of areas i visited in my railway career. The text was simple but effective. Hope there is a volume 2.

this book rekindled my memories of this area from 50 years ago, as a railway enthusiast. I did not own a camera for much of this era, so it was like a breathe of fresh air to live my memories again. A must for any railway enthusiast, nothing but quality.

Bought as a birthday present. Recipient says he is well pleased with it and it contains excellent photographs - a little bit of nostalgia

Wonderful book filled with high quality evocative pictures - no duds here! This book should be held up as a benchmark for others with its quality photographs and production. I see this volume was printed in China. Ian Allan's books used to be UK printed but if this is a move to the printers in the east do not be dismayed, it is first class. I read others commenting about inaccuracies in some captions - I have no idea about that, I just wallowed in the glorious photography. Highly recommended!
