Product Description

Kallen Deshara has discovered his world’s origin, nature, and destiny; and has fallen madly in love with Aaric Utzman in 1820. His decision to stay with Aaric, knowing full well that his presence might change all of history, brings him to the very edge of reality. But his colleagues who have returned to the 25th century have other plans. They intend to bring him back before he changes anything, even if it means killing him. But first they have to find him.

Traveling along the Wilderness Trail with his new companion, Kallen is totally unaware he’s being stalked. In the meantime, he realizes what had been missing his whole life, deepens his love with Aaric, and sees more water than he thought possible. Slowly but surely, he recognizes that he has more to offer than he ever knew. In fact, he may even be able to shape the future that should have been!

But Kallen learns an even more important lesson. He discovers that love knows no boundaries—not even of time itself.

By Booklover Joseph TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Kallen, at the end of the first book, decided not to return to his own time (several centuries hence) but to stay in eighteenth century America, mainly because he had fallen in love with beautiful, nineteen year old, Aaric - and because his own world has been devastated by ecological degradation. Indeed, about the only similarity between his own time and revolutionary America is rampant homophobia.
Kallen and Aaric have to flee - by horse and cart - from their pursuers in both time zones. Their progress is slow because Kallen spends his time unlacing Aaric's buckskin britches and finding his way into whatever they wore for knickers in those days. Not that Aaric objects and soon, armed with some natural oils, the two guys discover that the path to eternal damnation is about as much fun as two guys can have in any century.
There is a serious message in this book about the environment and Kendrick paints an idyllic picture of eighteenth century rural America. But this is, above all, an erotic love story with two sexy heroes any of us would cross a time zone or two to get into bed with.

An exciting and romantic conclusion! 8 July 2003
By Duane Simolke - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Mark Kendrick brings his Stealing Some Time trilogy to an exciting and romantic conclusion with Book III: Journey's End. Fortunately, Kendrick plans to write more gay science fiction novels.

With Book I, we met Kallen Deshara, a young hero in a dark, homophobic future. With Book II, Kallen's time-traveling mission into the past brought him together with Aaric Utzman, a handsome young man who quickly stole his heart.

Book III winds up the trilogy with an even deeper romance between Kallen and Aaric, and with much more adventure. Mark Kendrick explores the possibilities of time travel, while also exploring the possibilities of gay love. Even though Chapter 24 of this book resolves the conflicts, Kendrick adds a touching Epilogue that will give readers an even greater sense of closure and satisfaction.

Intelligent Science Fiction and Touching Love Story! 1 Sep 2003
By R.Parklane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Stealing some time surpasses my expectation. A marvelous blend of sci-fi and gay romance, it has an intelligent plot with a touching love story which knows no barrier. The two protagonists, Kallen and Aaric are wonderfully appealing. One can forgive the writer for his near perfect heroes because this is fiction and heroes should be beautiful. Kallen's early encounters with 3 lovers who deserted him is almost heart breaking, Kallen's loneliness is captured with a heart felt and stark honesty. How Kallen met Aaric in the second book is especially romantic, even with a sprinkle of humor. Kallen's decision to give up his world to stay with Aaric and his sorrows when he though Aaric fails to keep their date just tugs at my heart. All this is told against a background with a future world which is almost frightening but equally possible and it is sad that this future world is still homophobic. To top it all is the compelling yet touching epilogue which I especially like yet leaves a lingering sadness in me long after I finished the 3 books. Definitely a must read!

disappointing 4 July 2006
By Furio - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
In this second volume (and third part of the trilogy... a bit confusing this -very short- trilogy divided in two books) I missed nearly all the qualities of the first volume and found the flaws heightened.

The storyline loses its pace and gets a little slow and boring, which is surprising enough if you reckon that this last part is essentially a manhunt, a subject that, if well done, should actually be breathtaking.
Characters feel a little stereotyped, they declare their feelings for each other a little too loudly to be entirely believable.

The overall impression is a sense of pedrantry, as if the intent in writing this last part of the story was to be didactic about homosexual relationships.

The price is very high for such a short volume.
