Cassie Neill is a psychic with a talent for connecting with the minds' of serial killers. The future she has seen for herself inside these minds, however, is grim and foreboding. She flees the big city for a small town community but is she escaping her destiny or running headlong into it? Even small towns have their monsters.
Kay Hooper does a masterful job of building believable characters and page-turning suspense. The story flows smoothly and steadily builds towards a chilling and satisfying conclusion.
Although part of a 'thrill-ogy', Stealing Shadows stands perfectly as an individual read. It will be a strong willed reader indeed though, who doesn't feel compelled to read the remainder of the series.
The measure of any serial killer tale these days has to be the Hannibal Lector trilogy by Thomas Harris. If this first instalment is anything to judge by, Kay Hooper's trilogy won't fall short of the mark.

Fast paced with a wonderful blend of 'magic', acceptance of magic and the disbelievers. Great characters who bounce off each other and work well together, cassie and Ben are great throughout and Matt adds a further dimension.
