Reviews

From Amazon.co.uk

In Stealing Harvard, the charming Jason Lee (Chasing Amy, Almost Famous) wastes his talent playing John, a nice guy who once rashly promised his niece that he would pay for her college education. Now she's been accepted into Harvard, and though John has just the right amount of money in the bank, that money is meant to buy a house for himself and his fiancée Elaine (Leslie Mann). Afraid of disappointing his niece, John enlists his friend Duff (Tom Green) on a spree of inane criminal escapades that go wrong. Lee is an engaging actor, but he can't make the half-baked gags of Stealing Harvard funny. Similarly wasted are Megan Mullally, Dennis Farina, Chris Penn and others. --Bret Fetzer

Product Description

Comedy in which a middle-class man turns to a life of crime in order to finance his niece's first year at Harvard University. Jon (Jason Lee) leads a simple and happy life. He has a beautiful fiancee and an assistant manager position at his future father-in-law's company. Everything seems perfect until John's favourite niece surprises him with her acceptance to Harvard University and he's reminded of a long forgotten oath he made to foot the bill.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 10 Mar 2005
By Jekyll
Format:DVD
Well..I am certainly surprised that this film got such good reviews. I have enjoyed Tom Green's type of comedy before. So after reading these reviews, I thought I'd purchase it. God..was I disappointed..the storyline is lame, the comedy isnt that funny compared to Freddy got fingered. The only good thing about this film, is that Megan Mullally is it in, as well as Chris Penn playing a small role.
Dont bother buying this film, rent it if you want for a few minimal laughs.

3.0 out of 5 stars From a Tom Green fan 11 Jan 2005
By E. Wong
Format:DVD
I gotta say the movie was pretty funny over all with the usual "Tom Green" humour. However, it's not really an amazing movie like Freddy Got Fingered is. Probably because Tom Green isn't the main character.

You should get it though coz it's cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilrarious, great comedy!! 28 Sep 2003
Format:DVD
Again we have another film with Tom Green which is absolutely awsome!!

The films all about this guy jack(Jason Lee- Mallrats, Jay and Silent bob strike back) who has saved $30,000 with his girl friend for a new house and wedding, but when Jack visits his niece she has been accepted to Harvard University and he is then reminded that he promised his niece that he would pay the fund if she ever got in! The fee is $30,000! Jack then in trouble could'nt take the money that him and his girlfriend has saved as she secretely bought a house, so Jack has no option but to turn to his friend Duff(Tom Green- Freddie got fingered) for help, Duff's only idea and plan is to turn to crime! but for these guys robbing stores and hold ups with plastic guns isnt so easy?!

I recomend this film to all comedy lovers!

One to watch!
