Another 'Italy Records' find, although now signed to 'Estrus', they carry all the elements an Italy Records band should; honesty, rawness and of course a heavy dose of the blues!
This is the bands second LP release and see's the addition of several guest instrumentalists, understandably creating a more inclusive sound, whilst still retaining that original blues tip that makes them interesting.
The Soledad Brothers may be the only other artists in existence, i.e. Craig David, who can get away with constantly repeating their name throughout the tracks for the simple fact that it adds to the authenticity of their sound!
'Prodical Stones Blues', demonstrates the more accessible Blues that makes this album different from the last, with a guitar riff that could easily slip into The Stones' 'Brown Sugar' one does begin to wonder if the tracks title is more than a coincidence!
So, to sum up The Soledad's have started to add the 'Rhythm' to their 'Blues' to produce a more 60's influenced sound which could stretch their followers beyond hardcore blues fans.
Our first track on the 'Side of Understanding', '32 Blues' thanks us for buying the record, I'd like to be the first to thank the Soledad's for making it!
