3.0 out of 5 stars NOT A 25 YEAR GUARANTEE 3 July 2010
Verified Purchase
Having taken both the suppliers and Amazon to task over the guarantee covering the non stick element, I am very suprised that the disclaimer that was promised has not been included.

THE NON STICK COATING IS NOT GUARANTEED.

If you want a full and proper guarantee buy a similar pan from Cooks Essentials at QVC.

2.0 out of 5 stars not good 3 Nov 2010
I thought this looked like a bargain but I was wrong - a strong case of you get what you pay for. I've had hard anodised pans in the past and they've been geat but thought I'd have a go with this aluminium pan as an alternative. a mistake. It's flimsy and lightweight by comparison and the non-stick coating doesnt work. I suspect I'll be buying another pan in a few months and this will be headed for the recycling. Should have spent the extra £10 - £20 on a proper job.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good.... for a while 26 Mar 2011
When I first received this product as a wedding gift, I was overjoyed. A pan of good proportions, easy to use, easy to clean, nice heavy bottom, non-stick, a lid, and under a name that - being a popular BBC programme - you can trust. Within a year, however, my feelings had changed. The base warped. OK, now that was my fault for not reading the instructions and using it on too high a heat. Fair enough. Then the non-stick started to come off, peeling away from the rivets and around the lip. 'That's not right', I thought, given that the product has a 25 year guarantee. Unfortunately, as other reviews have pointed out, this amazing 25 year guarantee does not cover the non-stick coating. 'Here, have a pan that will last you structurally for 25 years, although for 24 of those years it will be unusable'. Is there much point in the guarantee, then? Hurm. Fortunately, however, I had received the item from Argos, who have a one year returns policy, and I was able to change it for a new one. Again, I was overjoyed - my practical and usable pan was back! Within a year, however, my feelings had changed. The base did not warp this time, as I had read the instructions (aha!) and was careful to heat the pan gently. I was also more careful using utensils and cleaning it, fearful of incurring more non-stick damage. Despite this, the non-stick coating began to peel away from the rivets, and around the lip. This time I returned the item to Argos and took store credit, and I am now on the hunt for a new pan.

Such promise, Ainsley! But alas, your pan has let me down.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice design, but that's about it! 26 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase
I always had Tefal pan, but I had to replace my sauté pan that I had for a few years. I couldn't find a 26cm Tefal, so went for a well-know name thinking that it could only be a good quality! Especially when it says non-stick pan. When I opened the box, I thought it was a nice design, but the inside didn't look at all like a non-stick coating.
I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I have got to admit that every single meals I have prepared stuck in the bottom of the pan: onions, eggs, etc. And it is not easy to wash either! I have eventually decided to return it, something that I normally don't do very often! Is it bad luck?

1.0 out of 5 stars Ready Steady Cook saute pan 9 Mar 2011
By Anthony
Like the design and how it feels in the hand. But the black stuff that coats the pan has started to bubble and flake off around the sides after only 6 months use! So it will now become land fill as the coating is not guaranteed I can't return it!! Not surprised when the life span is only a few months. What a waste of a perfectly good pan!!

1.0 out of 5 stars a waste of money.. 11 Aug 2011
By juz
I thought I was onto a winner with this pan. Endorsed by Ready Steady Cook I felt assured that I was buying a good quality pan. However this has not been the case. Non stick is not non- stick with this pan -everything sticks to it! You can't get away with cooking with less oil, if you are watching your waistline, either as that is a non starter. I keep having to add more oil to try and prevent everything sticking. I have been cooking for 20 years and I can honestly say I have had more disasters , with food welding itself to the bottom of the pan in the last 6 months ( since i bought it) that I have had in the previous 20 years put together. I might at this rate chuck the pan and contents in the nearest wheelie bin if I have to use it many more times. I am needless to say on the hunt for a new pan. The handle is also flimsy - it flexes when the pan is hot and it feels very unsafe when moving the pan off the hob to where I serve the meals up ( only a couple of feet away). I feel like the pan itself is going to come away from the handle. I wish I had spent more money on a more reliable brand ,because ultimately replacing my previous pan has cost me a lot of money. The old saying 'buy cheap , buy twice' is definitely ringing in my ears.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment 25 Feb 2011
By L Carr
I bought this saute pan thinking that it would be a handy addition to the kitchen. However, I have only used it twice, the "non-stick" coating is ineffective and I have had to transfer food to an older pan both times in the middle of cooking. I am about to reinvest in a better pan, probably a more expensive one unfortunately.

4.0 out of 5 stars Saute Pan
A nice large pan with a lid that allows the steam out. The only issue for me was, I didn't realise just how heavy it would be.
