When I first received this product as a wedding gift, I was overjoyed. A pan of good proportions, easy to use, easy to clean, nice heavy bottom, non-stick, a lid, and under a name that - being a popular BBC programme - you can trust. Within a year, however, my feelings had changed. The base warped. OK, now that was my fault for not reading the instructions and using it on too high a heat. Fair enough. Then the non-stick started to come off, peeling away from the rivets and around the lip. 'That's not right', I thought, given that the product has a 25 year guarantee. Unfortunately, as other reviews have pointed out, this amazing 25 year guarantee does not cover the non-stick coating. 'Here, have a pan that will last you structurally for 25 years, although for 24 of those years it will be unusable'. Is there much point in the guarantee, then? Hurm. Fortunately, however, I had received the item from Argos, who have a one year returns policy, and I was able to change it for a new one. Again, I was overjoyed - my practical and usable pan was back! Within a year, however, my feelings had changed. The base did not warp this time, as I had read the instructions (aha!) and was careful to heat the pan gently. I was also more careful using utensils and cleaning it, fearful of incurring more non-stick damage. Despite this, the non-stick coating began to peel away from the rivets, and around the lip. This time I returned the item to Argos and took store credit, and I am now on the hunt for a new pan.
Such promise, Ainsley! But alas, your pan has let me down.
