I bought this because it works on all hobs, including induction.

Before use, washed it in soapy water, dried it, and rubbed oil into the bottom.

Next day, used it on a gas hob (it will be used later on induction) to brown meat, brown onions, sweat carrots, added more vegetables and flavourings, and made a stew in it. Following the instructions, didnt add salt until later in cooking - else, they say, it will pit the metal surface and be harder to clean later on.

One thing I noticed was the heat distribution of the bottom is good. Needed to use a lower heat setting than any other pan we own. So, this pot will save money when cooking, as it will use less fuel.

The lid has a clever section with holes, if you line this up with the pouring lip of the pot, you can drain cooking water away - no more juggling the lid, or needing to use a colander. However, I will use a colander to chop cooked veg with a knife, as with cabbage, else we would damage the pot.

Altogether, after first use, this seems to be a well designed pot, and it is quite a bit cheaper than the other pans of this size I found which will work on induction hobs.

Oh, and delivery was quite fast too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pot I have ever had 20 Oct 2010
This is definitely the best pan I have ever bought. I have used it in my oven several times and had no problem with any smells etc. Do be aware tho that the silicone handle covers do get hot so you need oven gloves still.
Fantastic size cooks a stew for 8 with no problem.
I wish they nade this in a range of sizes as the 2 handled draining is a boon for anyone with weak wrists.

2.0 out of 5 stars Casserole dish? 20 Nov 2009
Please note that this is not a 'casserole' dish. It is a stew pot. You cannot put this product in the oven (which is where you usually use a casserole dish). The handles and lid are made of a type of rubber which I thought was heat proof but I ended up with a strong smell of burning rubber and smoke. Please be aware of this if purchasing. I sent mine back as it did not do the job I thought it was meant for.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a deal!
Bought to replace a wornout hob casserole. This is excellent.Heavy base means it does not rattle on full power and the integral strainer is a bonus.
