This book is brilliant! If you want a front row seat right in the middle of the centre of Mrs Thatchers government of the 1880s this is the book you'll want to read.
The author was a major player in these governments in charge of such departments as Agriculture, Energy and wales. In it Peter Walker explins how he worked to make real his "one notion" type of conservativism against the cruel "ism" of Mrs. Thatchersism.
Peter Walker was a giant in the jungle and the sort of character in politics that you just don't get today in politics. This should change and if iain Duncan Smith wants to know what to think he could do better than read this book. Even better he could bring back Walker!
