Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

The third album from fast-rising punk stars Saves The Day, Stay What You Are is something of a milestone. In an age where sensitive punkboys are 10-a-penny, truly memorable emo albums are few and far between--but in just over 30 minutes, these three young New Jersey men reinvigorate the genre with nothing but a tight grip on the emotional rollercoaster and an eye for a good tune. Throughout, frontman Chris Conley's vocals are high but certain, vulnerable yet assured--and the music complements his delivery tightly, segueing between thrashy punk froth and passages of unexpectedly florid tenderness. The opening "At Your Funeral" cleverly shrouds its serious message--the memory of a late friend--in the language of a bullish punk scenester's boast that "This song will become / The anthem of your underground". Still, Conley sells his band too short: the likes of "Certain Tragedy" and "See You" combine the mainstream nous of Weezer with the sort of nu-punk histrionics in a way that should appeal to everyone from pop-punk fans to dedicated fanzine writers. --Louis Pattison

After hearing their single "At Your Funeral" on a popular music channel, i got hooked on the voices and music of Saves The Day. A fantastic medley of hits on this, their new album, and i will be sure to buy albums from previous years now that they have inspired me to buy more of their music.

Excellent Buy 1 Nov 2003
Format:Audio CD
Saves The Day, are a fantastic and mature emo-punk band, the high pitched vocal talents of the lead singer, coupled with the easily memorable melodies, will have you humming most of the tracks for weeks.

The marriage of a bouncy melody and dark lyrics in "At Your Funeral" - 'if I flooded out your house, do you think you'd make it out, or would you burn up as the water fills your lungs?' - is a happy one, and although it doesn't seem right at first, it really does work.

As I mentioned before they are a mature band, with a solid style and the grace to pull it off admirably. My friend introduced me to them and I haven't looked back, if you haven't heard Emo music before, this is a great place to start, you could also try Something Corporate's new album, North, it's also very lovely.

Great Album 3 July 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I bought this album on the strength of At Your Funeral which has seen a lot of air play on Kerrang. And i was not disapointed with this album. On first listen it might sound a bit boring and bland, but after playing it 3/4 times i realised just how good it is! The best songs are At Your Funeral, See You and Certain Tragedy, the only downfall on this album is Cars & Calories which isnt too great. Defaintly worth buying.
