As a fan of Chungking's addictive songs: World of a Thousand Suns and Voodoo, these left me waiting for the next album. In comparison, this new album seems a bit different. It's a little more upbeat, and it seems to deviate from the usual chill, easy-going feel of the above mentioned songs. At first, it took me a bit, after going through all of the songs to be satisfied with the cd, but overrall this a good, cohesive album.
Perhaps the best tracks are Love Is Here To Stay, followed by Ticking, I Love You, and Itch Scratch with their crisp, steady sound. I Love You is very intoxicating, great to sit back and chill to. And give Baby a chance, it gets better after a few verses. The more and more that I listened to it, I began to liken this perhaps new sound to that of Goldfrapp, in particular Love Is Here To Stay--this sort of equated Goldfrapp's Ooh La La from the Supernature album. And yet, there are still some echos of that sort of 70's-ish vibe that alludes to some of their older songs such as World of a Thousand Suns.
The album art reminds me of some mid-late eighties Peter Gabriel video.
