This is Jimmy Eat world being half experimental and half tried and tested. I believe that three of these songs are from the Futures sessions, and didn't make the album. Its easy to see why as they are not only are they not the best songs written by JEW, they also wouldn't have fitted the mood of Futures.'Disintegration' is a breath taking song though, and shows JEW being a touch more experimental than usual. Slow burning, lengthy, but never boring and always intense, building to a climax of epic proportions. 'Over' and 'Closer' are very much sticking to the tried and tested JEW formula of vocal harmonies and pop rock structure and sound. Not bad by any means, just not as good as ,I for one, have come to expect from this band. Half Right is a cover of Heatmiser (See 'Kill' on Futures for more refrence!!) Along with 'Disintergration' the remix of 'Drugs Or Me' is JEW being experimental and ambitious. Very electronica/Glitch based, it won't be what most fans will be expecting. This shouldn't detract from how good a remix it is though. This Ep, so I Believe, is the first part of a two part Ep release. Be it a stop gap release or a genuine project, it is worth buying for the first and last tracks alone, both of which are breath taking. However, you can't help feeling that the bits in between are just filler. Good, but below Jimmy Eat Worlds' own very high standards.
