Quentin Jardines Skinner stories captivate you; the storyline "weaves into a tapestry" as Skinner says about the seemingly different cases to a colleague, It all comes together at the end from the new Pope visiting Edinburgh to the death of two drummers. It is a book that you will read and say to your significant other "will just read to the end of the chapter" - never happens, you will want to read on. Buy this book! if you haven't read about DCC Skinner before - Buy them 1st. The 1st novels in the series concentrate on skinner but the later delve more and more into the lives of people around him, you feel for the characters when something tragic happen, but you will laugh, or feel happy when something good happens. Jardines character analysis is impeccable, you get drawn into their lives.

Having read all the Skinner books, (or so I thought!) I somehow missed this one. Good reading as usual and it didn't make any difference being out of the order in which they were written. Looking forward, albeit sadly, to reading the final Skinner book, already preordered.

Another exciting story in the Bob Skinner series, again I just couldn't put the book down. When is Quintin Jardine going to run out of steam?! These stories just keep coming and coming and never disappoint - well, rarely anyway - I can recall maybe one or two of the books only that let the series down a bit.
