Book Description

26 Aug 2004 041533425X 978-0415334259

This clearly written textbook clarifies the concepts underpinning descriptive and inferential statistics in organizational research. Acting as much more than a theoretical reference tool, step-by-step it guides readers through the various key stages of successful data analysis.

Covering everything from introductory descriptive statistics to advanced inferential techniques such as ANOVA, multiple and logistic regression and factor analysis, this is one of the most comprehensive textbooks available. Using examples directly relevant to organizational research it includes practical advice on such topics as the size of samples required in research studies, using and interpreting SPSS, and writing up results.

In helping readers to develop a sound understanding of statistical methods, rather than focusing on complex formulas and computations, this outstanding textbook is as appropriate for those who wish to refresh their knowledge as those new to the subject area.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book made an ignorant student very happy 11 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Having struggled with my Occ Pscy research proposal and failed on the first attempt, I was daunted by the idea of having to do stats on my second attempt.

This book made an ignorant student very happy as it really made the concepts and processes relating to statistics, methods and research really accessible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top marks 14 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
Chris Dewberry's text addresses all of the basic statistical calculations used in psychological research and makes a good companion to other texts on use of SPSS. I have found it particularly helpful in connection with psychometric research and recommend it to anyone working in the fields of assessment and selection.
