My favourite album of 2008. Broody instrumental soundscape with great drum sounds and dynamics. Difficult to pin down their sound - the best I can do is "the album metallica and the stone roses would make when taking mdma". Sorry I couldn't come up with anything more accurate. Buy it.

As the previous reviewer said, this is indeed difficult to pin down with one adjective. It's reminicent of broody Pelican, but a little like rocking out and simple Mastodon, some like Oceanic/Panopticon Isis ...and then like..

...Oh, I get lost. This album grooves, glides and purrs. In places it rocks out like nothing else in this crazily undefinable post-metal galaxy, and in those places it feels like a three piece rock band (which, to me, is rare for a this type of band to achieve - their field tends to denote a detachment, a type of music made almost specifically to be filmic: a soundtrack to mother natures greatest creations. That might sound pretentious, but listen to Pelican's Australasia while watching a rough sea)but then it can switch to a shoegazing moment full of beauty.

This album suprised me no end, it lay on my mp3 dormant until one day I found it and didn't turn back.
