This version of the CD comes with two hidden tracks, the first of which is a 8 minute collection 'Outtakes' from the recording sessions - it's just a lot of snippets of the starts of songs, or band members commenting on tracks... nothing spetacular, but cool none the less.
From the start the misfits were playing strong,
aggressive punk rock and were playing it to the
point!
Their original formulae was to play 50's inspired
rock and roll, as well as playing it with a shared
love of Horror Movies as an influence in their lyrics
and style of playing. Though this love of horror movies
also influenced the way they dressed and this soon earnt
them their reoccuring title as goths. The misfits were
called a goth band as they were often spotted with long black 'Devil Lock'hairstyles, wearing
halloween
make up, leather jackets, and various other
items of gothic clothing.
The Misfits are also well known for the skull icon
painted
on their boots, jackets and equiptment andthis was
soon recognised as being the misfits main logo, known
to fans as the 'fiend skull'.
The original Misfits survived a succesful 18 years
until their split with Glenn danzig in the mid 80's
which ended the bands long running carrer inwhich they
had released 4 full length albums and released 10 7"
singles. The Misfits stayed dead as Danzig formed bands
such as Samhain and Danzig in his absence from the band.
In 1997, founding member reformed the band but this time
with a new drummer, a new lead singer Michael graves and
a much heavier sound! The Misfits were back and back to
stay and have since released 3 new albums 'American psycho', 'famous monsters' and their
brand new 50's
cover album 'Project 1950'. Who knows where the
misfits will go from here but one things for sure,
you cant keep a good band down!
