I think some of the other reviews are a little harsh. This book doesn't claim to cover everything - as it says in the Foreword: 'The book does not claim to be comprehensive, or to provide a wealth of practical detail. Instead, it concentrates on the salient points of each smallholding activity, whilst pointing the reader in the right direction for further information. At the end of each enterprise, for example, there is a summary of the space, time, energy and costs involved.' I have found it to be a good starting point and can help you make the decision about how much land you need for what, what to concentrate on, how much time you can expect to spend on each activity etc etc. It fills a hole that some books don't.
