The equivalent to a bible for anyone wanting to start a cake business!

I personally found this book a extremely useful. As someone who had the talent to make and decorate cakes, but no knowledge of business or what was required to start a home run cake business, this book was a fantastic guide. It lists out, step by step, all the things you need to consider and where to start, some things were obvious, some things i had not even thought to consider. I found myself reading this book a couple of times and almost using it as a check list to get my business started. For me, one of the most useful books, i have ever bought.

There doesn't seem to be much specific advice available to people who do cakes as a hobby and wonder whether they could turn it into a business, but this book is ideal. Even if you're not sure to start with whether running a business is for you, it helps you think through all the thngs you'd need to consider - if you do go ahead, you're more likely to start off on the right footing if you've read this book first.
Even just as a hobby cake decorator, I found it quite useful to think about my cakemaking in a more business like way - eg if friends want to pay for ingredients for a cake I've done them, I think a lot more carefully about the real cost now! It's amazing how much things cost without you even realizing, and though I love my hobby I can't afford to be out of pocket through doing it!

This book is excellent for any budding cooks who wish to broaden the horrison and go it alone, dont be to afraid there is plenty of help to get you started.
