The beginners guide to the chippy biz,

Nice little intro to the business of the great british chippy, but would have liked to see a bit more info on training for the novice and computer programs for accounting should have been available,( this is a biggie for the tyro and where most fail in the first two years, when the right location may be important accounting skills and stocktaking/ portion control are critical and not difficult if taught properly ), but enough to get you underway in this industry, next stop, the National Fish Fryers Federation courses, in Leeds, only real problem was the wait for the publishers to print this title, it took about three months from order to completion,

Can help people that don't know too much about the catering business. A very good guide, but a guide only. No one can rely on a book over experience. Also, the catering business is now a very tough business. It is far from easy to make money in any food business.

Just the basics, but a good overview,

A good general view of running a take-away, I would have liked to see more about the costing breakdown, and Gross Profit calculations, but overall a good guide for someone who has no experience in the field. (I have retail and catering experience, I wanted a book more about running a business myself)
