What a masterpiece this was from 'Simply Red'! Certainly has to be the peak of their career, and will probably remain forever unsurpassed!

This plays like a greatest hits for them from 1991 and 1992 with no less than five 'official' hit singles they had that year - leaving the remaining album material sounding very much the same calibre. Surprisingly, the highest any of these classic singles ever reached in the charts was only an unimpressive number eight which was the title song itself from the album, and it was simply unbelievable that the beautiful haunting ballad 'For Your Babies' should only reach an insulting number nine, when it really should have given the band their first ever chart-topper, but then I guess this was probably due to the fact that everybody had already bought the album anyway...

Certainly one of the greatest albums from the 90s - and at a time when pop music was in heavy decline, and thus the best we can ever expect from 'Simply Red'.

Simply marvellous!
