5.0 out of 5 stars Inclusive, uplifting folk pop 19 Feb 2010
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
What at first feels rather slight and uninvolving reveals itself, on repeated listens, to be a refreshingly inclusive and celebratory piece of folk electronica. Written about the euphoric rush of connecting with others through shared experience, the vocals are supported by an intricately uplifting and choppy electronic production.

The Russ Chimes remix takes things in a full-on dance direction - galloping baseline, urgently nagging synths and epic Italo-house style piano chords. This is a storming remix that manages to honour the original concept and yet create something very special in its own right. Melodic enough to be listened to at home, yet dynamic enough to be played in a club.

Unsurprisingly, the Little Noise session (acoustic charity event) strips things back to Ellie's voice, a keyboard and a guitar-based backing. Here, Ellie injects a new note of doubt - a recognition that happiness can disappear just as soon as it arrives.

Three very different versions of a lovely pop song and well worth purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Next thing, we're touching!!!! 24 Mar 2010
Format:Audio CD
I love Starry Eyed. From the moment I first heard it on MTV a few weeks ago, it has been in my head. It's such nice, catchy, fresh music, you cannot help but love it. In addition to co-writing Starry Eyed, Ellie's got a great voice. She sounds very individual and there is definitely a hint of Bjork about her sound, which is a complement. This CD single contains the original, which is great, a funky Italian club cut style remix (including some cool keyboard/piano) and to finish, a lovely, slower, stripped back, live version. It's all good and highly recommended. Buy it, play it and kick back for some great 2010 pop music!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Deks True Reviews - Starry Eyed I Am.... 31 Jan 2010
By Shawn
Format:Vinyl
ellies first single was a bit.... weird to be onist, however this can not be said for this song, it has a completly different song from single 1. It is more electro-pop/pop/snyth/dance and it works, it sounds a bit like music that little boots has done. the beats make this song, another thing that makes this song is her er..... ooooaaaaaooooaaaaahhhhhaaa's it makes the song sound a bit spooky, a bit mysterious, maybe even scary weird, but this is all good. its about time we had a unusually different song, about time. a catchy ish chours. i do have to say it is a bit of a grower song - meaning you may have to listen to it a few times to get into it, but after you get into it, your hucked. amazing song, i give this amazingly different song 8 out of 10. i've got starry eyed, id buy it, i think you should buy it.
