Terrible! 10 Mar 2002
I had real trouble even finishing this book because the story seemed dragged out and there wasn't even much of a story. It was confusing as to (without spoiling it) which 'part' was about a specific character or whether, in fact, it was about the team in general. The characters seemed wrong in their attitudes and behaviour and there was some really funky chemistry between certain characters, particularly Janet and Jack, towards the end of the book. Where it came from I don't have a clue because it doesn't exist in the series at all! Some of the characters' thoughts seemed a little odd, and at times a little unprofessional too!
A very strange and disappointing book. I read the book to see a story between the characters we all know and love and instead found a bizarre bunch of people that seemed familiar but had none of the traits of the SG-1 in the series.

Disappointing. 17 Oct 2001
By A Customer
After having read 'The price you pay', which I thought was one of the best books I have ever read, I was sourly disappointed with this novel. I was expecting the same descriptive talent and storyline that I had previously enjoyed in the other book, but this was not present in 'The Morpheus Factor'.
The storyline itself was very good but it could have been so much better, I got the feeling that this book was rushed. There are several mistakes also, not only a few spelling errors, but people were given incorrect names and the authoress obviously had not done a lot of research when it came to referring to the British monarch. ("His majesty..")
No offence to Ms. McConnell, but I felt that this book was not as good as it could have been and was, I'm afraid, a great disappointment to read.

What a shame! 8 May 2001
By A Customer
Having read and enjoyed the other Stargate SG-1 books by Ashley McConnell, I was really looking forward to this one. Having read it, I found it to be disappointing. The story line did not entice me to carry on reading and I found it a struggle to finish the book. This was not expected as the previous books were much more to my liking.
