The style of writing (particularly 'Weirs' reports on each crew member) seemed to be aimed at a very young reader - precisely the style of writing that stopped me buying the Stargate magazines.
Most of the colour photographs in the book were publicity shots for season 1 - images even the most casual SGA fan will have seen a thousand times. Some different shots would have been nice or some behind the scenes images perhaps?
There are some nice production images near the end of the book and if you don't have the DVD's to listen to the commentry, David Hewlett's notes on 'The Storm' are interesting. Strangely the costume designer's interview doesn't mention the major clothing company who clearly supply a lot of the clothes- an example of the missing trivia which might have been nice- instead focusing on Tayla's clothing.
On a more positive note there were some interesting bits and pieces about how the characters were originally envisioned and casting but you really have to read through a lot of drivel to come across this.
I have episode guides from various series (although this is the first from the stargate universe) and in comparison to all, this was a dissappointment. I recommend putting the money you might spend on this towards the DVD's with it's great commentaries.
