Having seen previous reviews about using panasonic p2 cards (or not) with this adaptor, I wanted to share my experience.
I found that it works perfectly with p2 cards. You just need to follow a certain route of installing drivers.
This worked for me on a vista 32bit laptop:
* download and install the latest panasonic p2 software/drivers (in my case the 32bit vista ones) from the panasonic website (I did this with a p2 card in the adapter).
* After the installation, reboot as suggested
* with the p2 card still in, windows should try to install a driver automatically for the new mass storage controller it sees. This failed for me, but then you simply automatically locate the driver - you should point it to program files/panasonic p2/drivers/card
* it will then install the correct driver for windows to see it as a panasonic p2 device which should show up in device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
Works like a treat from then on. I can transfer a p2 card contents to a folder on my internal drive on the laptop in about ten minutes. Great for transfering/backing up on location or simply getting your media to your laptop to edit on quickly and cheaply!
