As far as I can tell there is virtually no degradation of the power of the graphics card you install, which makes it a must have if you're looking to upgrade an old motherboard.

My 2nd PC i bought only has PCIE X1 slots, i tried the zotac graphic card from Amazon but it was'nt a much of an upgrade for games than my onboard graphics. Purchased this and did'nt think it would allow my PCIE X16 card to play much, how wrong. Dont know how but this adaptor gives my between X4 and X8 speeds through my PCIE X1 slot even playing Crysis on High settings. If you only have X1 slots get this and a PCIE x16 low profile card its amazing!

bought pcie adapter card and it does not work on up to date motherboards as i have found out put it into an old mother board and it worked graphics card i bought it thinking it would solve my problem with ibis hsdl adapter card as they work of pcie x16 slot but did not even find it so it was a waste of money for me but would suit peoples old computers for extra pcie x16 slots
