Works just fine 23 Nov 2010
I wanted a 2 port ethernet card to I can test my software - sending messages to another machine and receiving them back again.

It installed fine on XP and works just fine.

StarTech dual port gigabit NIC 10 Jan 2012
By Leslie R. Hazelton - Published on Amazon.com

I have been using this dual port Gigabit NIC for about two months now. I use it in a Fedora-16 based Linux firewall router. I use the gigabit adapter integrated in the system board to connect to my cable modem and the StarTech card to provide two different subnets on my local network. Using this card helps me conserve the PCIe expansions slots on the system board. So far, I have found nothing negative to say about this product
conflicts with the on-board video card on the m91p ThinkCentre Desktops 24 Feb 2012
By JD - Published on Amazon.com
The ST1000SPEXDP seems to conflict with the on-board video card in the m91p ThinkCentre Desktop. So you need to check to make sure your system can support using a Startech with your system

It was a nice idea... 23 Aug 2011

I thought this would be a great way to add some high density to my servers for network connectivity. It was a nice idea, but I had to modify the dang things to get them into a standard PCI slot in the case back. They work, and with CentOs 5.6, but getting the actual hardware installed took nearly 4 hours for 5 servers. I will spend the extra money for Intel dual port cards next time.
