5.0 out of 5 stars Good piece of kit. 17 Mar 2011
I bought this as I have been fixing a lot of laptops recently. Having this made it easy to recover any data necessary, also to run virus scans. I have only used it a few times but it has worked perfectly when needed. The docking station sits on my desk therefore I can't comment on how robust it is or is not. It is a very handy piece of kit to have if you need to easily plug in other hard drives. Very glad I bought it; it will be used many times.

5.0 out of 5 stars What it says on the box 15 Aug 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
This unit does exactly what it says on the box. Having recently sustained a major computer failure and had to start from scratch, it allowed to to move large quantities of data directly from the old drives. It is also now running my backup and it is ideal if I want to take large quantities of information on the move with me. Overall, an excellent piece of kit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Device, but build quality suspect. 9 Jun 2011
Received one of these and it had a "rattly" sound - Needing to use it pretty straight away, I opened it up and found that the weight of the machine is a lump of metal screwed to the bottom. The plastic that the screws go into had snapped.
Luckily it was just a case of glueing the metal "lump" to the bottom then putting it back together.

You can get an adapter to fit IDE straight into the dock. It might be nice to include this instead of cables?

Otherwise a useful bit of kit!
