Though he reciprocates, the bitter William is incapable of a warm relationship unless the Star magically intervenes.
"Last Kiss at the Loving Cup Saloon" by Tess Farraday. In 1899, Joe learns Lucy abandoned four kids when she ran away. He knows they need a lady to take care of them. He tricks Katherine, a mail order bride, to watch the kids. However, she locates the Star that helps her find love with Joe.
"Joy to the World" by Kate Freiman. In 1999, Angela mourns the death of her brother. His best friend Joshua offers her comfort. Though she loves his hugs, she hates the way he dodges her questions. Still she feels guilty that just a few days after her brother's death she is in love. However, the Star she recently found has helped alleviate some of her distress.
