Hasbro start their new Legacy Collection for 2008 with wave one consisting of figures from Return Of The Jedi.
As an added bonus, much like 2006's hologram figures in The Saga Collection or 2007's collector coins in the 30th Anniversary Collection, this year they've done something better - the Build-A-Droid `Droid Factory'. Each figure comes with a component of a small Astromech droid and when you get 4 figures in numerical sequence (in 4's starting with 1!) you get the whole droid.
The first figure in the series is #01: Han Solo. This Han is actually based on one of remaining deleted scenes from Return Of The Jedi. After the escape from Jabba in the dune sea, the group return to their ships and run into trouble when they encounter a sandstorm. Those of you who have the Star Wars: Behind The Magic disc will be familiar with the scene.
Han has head (rotational and vertical), shoulder (rotational and abductional), elbow (vertical and rotational), wrist (rotational), torso (rotational and vertical), hips (vertical), knee (rotational and vertical) and ankle (rotational and vertical) articulation which gives him a very poseable 24 ranges of movement.
He comes equipped with a tan hard plastic scarf, a pair of goggles and a black blaster rifle.
The droid for figures #1 - #4 is R4-D6 and Han comes with the left leg of the droid.
A somewhat obscure figure and several versions of Han in this costume have already been released so this is really for collectors and completists.
