This has to be the best of Allston's X-Wing books. Sure, basically there are only 4 pilots involved - but three of them are the veterans we have all come to know and love, and the fourth is well, famous enough. Not so much of locations like the other books (heck, all the action takes place on ONE planet), but what Allston lacks in places, he makes up in dialogue - all my friends (and I!) who read it had side-splitting hysterics, especially where Wes Janson was concerned. Also, there's quite a lot of character development in this book - you see sides of those four pilots (ESPECIALLY Hobbie) that you've never seen before. And one more great thing about the book - Wedge dumps Qui! Never could understand what he saw in that blue-skinned Imperial scientist, anyway. If you haven't read it, I would strongly suggest that you do - get addicted and join the X-Wing mania!
