£20 is a very reasonable price for such a high quality figure with great articulation and various accessories. A Star Wars fans' delight.

Excellent figure of the Episode 1 baddie. Brilliant for kids and collectors. Better detail and articulation than the 3.75 figures by a long shot, with cool accessories. Can't wait for wave 2 and 3 of these fantastic figures. I want the Obi-Wan figure so I can display both hero and villain on my cabinet.

If you like Star Wars, get it. If you like 6 inch Marvel Legends get it. Brilliant figure. When are Hasbro going to release the 6 inch Vader figure?

Great as it is, would have been amazing with cloth cloak. 1 Aug 2013
By Shane - AFR - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Darth Maul, one of a few good things that came from the prequels, is a great six-inch figure but it does have a few things that may - or may not - disappoint some collectors. So let's break it down to pros and cons.

Action Figure:
With the robe and his tunic, Maul is a more difficult mold to say someone like Luke or R2 but even with all the folds in the fabric Hasbro does a great job with the mold.

Pros -
1) Great mold. The figure looks really good and the mold is top notch.
2) Great facial likeness.
3) Eyes are not painted cross-eyed.
4) The additional swappable head is a nice bonus.
5) All the folds around the elbows, knees, and ankles look amazing.

1) I think the most notable decision that may disappoint some collectors is the vinyl cloak. To me a fabric robe would have been a far better choice given they look great on the 4-inch and 12-inch.

Even though limited in number, the included accessories are of a high enough quality to make up for the lack of number.

Pros -
1) The dual-lightsaber is molded very well.
2) The D shaped union for the two separate lightsabers make sure that the two line up properly.
3) The Red blades are well molded and are translucent enough to look more real.
4) As mentioned above the second head makes it so the figure can be displayed with or without his robes.
5) The macro-binoculars are molded great and have a weather worn look that makes this simple piece really stand out.
6) Figure has pin on waist to hang hilt(s).
7) Blades are removable from hilt(s).

With plenty of articulation this piece should be easy to both play with and pose. Hasbro choosing to use better hinges and joints make this piece a higher quality than some we've seen in the past.

1) The joints at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, torso, legs, knees and ankles are Hasbro's top of the line joints and are very similar to the G.I. Joe line.

1) As expected the head that is attached to the robe has no articulation.

Almost as artistic as the piece itself, Hasbro's art department pulls no punches when it came to box design.

1) One of the best features that fans really took to when these figures were announced was the package. The matte black finish and the orange line down the front really makes it stand out on shelves.

1) The matte black surface does show scratches and indents well, so special care will need to be taken when handling if you plan to collect the product instead of play with it.

In short:

Pros -
1) Great mold.
2) Great accessories even though limited in quantity.
2) Great package.

Cons -
1) Limited in articulation with molded cloak.
2) Would have been better with cloth cloak.

The most fun I've had with a star wars action figure 10 Aug 2013

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I don't normally write reviews, but I thought the 3 and a half star rating for this product did not do it justice. This is hands down one of the best Star Wars toys that Hasbro has ever released. It's likeness to the character, articulation, sculpting detail and playability are all near perfect in my book (The 3.75 inch version cannot compare). Short of paying 200$, this is the best version of Darth Maul you are going to find. My only complaint would be that the figures' articulation is slightly hindered by the cloak in the shoulder area; however, you are still able to pull of some great menacing poses. Overall this action figure is just plain fun and is a worthy addition to any collection.

6 Inch Black Series Star Wars Figures are Great 19 Sep 2013
By Kory Patterson - Published on Amazon.com

This is a great 6 inch figure. It has pretty decent articulation, very similar to that of the Marvel Legends figures done also by Hasbro. The cape is removable so you can swap heads, the lightsaber comes apart in the center as shown in the picture, the blades are also removable, and there's a hook on the lightsaber so it can hang to Maul's belt. Overall he's a nice looking figure and balances well. So far I've purchased all the 6 inch black series SW figures except for R2D2 for this set and I've already pre-ordered Boba Fett and Han Solo off of Amazon (best price for Boba Fett when I was pre-ordering at that time).

probably a few awesome figures out there but most are flawed 18 Dec 2013

I was so excited to get this Darth Maul figure for $10, that I got four. Only to discover the facial tattoos,& eyes are as careless painted as every other Maul figure. Amazon appears to play hockey with the boxes, collectors beware. It's a nice idea but doesn't deliver. Buy them in a store where you can see what you are getting quality wise.

Best sith toy ever. 28 Aug 2013
By Cameron - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This toy is kind of amazing, just throwing that out there now. I really think I love everything about how the execution of this toy was handled.

Double hinged knees & elbows. Hinged wrists that rotate and swivel. Hinged ankles and waist. Ball jointed thighs, shoulders and neck. AND I love he's got a little bit of cloth on him so his legs can move a little high than if the cloth wasn't there. Joints are tighter than marvel legends, including the detachable lasers for his lightsaber, which splits in half.

The most important paint of the figure, its face, is remarkably well done considering the smudgy look of the other 4 inch figures. His gloves and boots are shiny, like in the movie. His interchangeable head is maybe the worst part about the figure but if THAT's the head you use when playing/displaying him, you're not a Darth Maul fan.
Overall I'm very happy with this figure. Seems like very durable in my opinion, and I've had a lot of action figures in my time. Paint is entirely satisfactory.

Lightsabers, and other items are perfectly made, lightsaber beams are straight as arrows. For the price and the track record Hasbro has set with marvel legends, I'm amazingly surprised. You won't be disappointed with this figure.
