Ok, if you are a Star Wars fan this thing is a MUST BUY!

It is perfect for custom painting is you are into that kind of thing, I've posted an image of mine set in a playset that I made for the kids.

It's got lights, sounds, moving bits and it is incredibly detailed.

The price is as awesome as the toy however, so if you are mad enough to spend the vast sums needed to acquire this beast then you won't be dissappointed.

There really is nothing more to say!

Hasbro release their first vehicle from the new Legacy Collection with an updated version of one of the most loved ships in the Star Wars saga - the Millennium Falcon. The original mould for the Falcon which has been used since the first one was made back in 1977 finally broke after producing Falcons for the original collections and then for the Power Of The Force and OTC range.
With a new mould required, modellers took it upon themselves to improve on the original and have given us one of the most impressive Star Wars vehicles ever created with a larger scale, more detailing, a vastly improved interior and loads of light and sound effects.
The Falcon comes partially assembled in the box (yes, it's bigger than that huge box!) But be warned, once assembled the pieces will NOT come undone - this is a one time assembly people!
The electronics require 3 AA batteries. The compartment is under the top of the aft hull which clips off and there is a screw plate underneath.
As an added bonus you get two figures Han Solo (2007's 30th Anniversary Collection #11) and Chewbacca (2004's Vintage Original Trilogy Collection #9) who come armed with a DL-44 and bowcaster respectively.
Now, onto the Falcon itself. A massive 10 inches high (when on landing feet), 24 inches across and 32 inches long, the ship is an impressive display piece.
For the lower hull there are 7 landing feet which plug into holes in the hull, the lower quad cannon and in the front hull there is the machine gun cannon (used against Snowtroopers in Echo Base) which can deploy out from the hull and has a firing missile in it.
On the upper hull there is the radar dish which rotates and angles, three firing missiles in the front section (the middle button makes a missile firing sound when pressed), illuminating lights in the forward docking claw, upper quad cannon (with two firing missiles) and glowing engine effects at the back. There is a button lever on the starboard side which moves the quad cannons (upper and lower and makes the gunner's seat move too) from side to side. When it does so you get cannon sounds and the lower two barrels in the upper cannon are actually missiles which fire out.
The cockpit canopy opens up and there are two forward seats for Han and Chewie and two aft seats. While it's nice to have the larger cockpit, figures can't really sit in the aft seats, they sort of perch on the edge very carefully. There are lights inside as well.
On the starboard side there is a button which allows the boarding ramp to deploy by itself, with accompanying sound and a light on either side underneath if the electronics are on.
On the port side the hatch opens right up and you can deploy the escape fighter, with sounds for the hatch and the ship when it is removed. The fighter itself has an opening cockpit, sliding cannons on both sides and a missile in the bottom which fires at the press of a button.
The interior of the ship is just as impressive as the exterior. You gain access by removing the port forward upper hull and the starboard side upper hull as two separate plates.
In the forward port side you have the Jedi training remote (which moves from side to side), Dejarik table (which lights up and has three figures to put on it), hyperdrive navicomputer, seating and an opening floor plate to access the hyperdrive circuitry.
In the forward starboard side you have a passageway aft and to the cockpit, a storage area in the side and a removable floor plate where you can hide figures.
In the aft starboard section you have the exit ramp, medical bay and two doors which open up to reveal a storage cupboard. The medical bay also has a slot to attach the bacta tourniquet which came with 2002's Saga Collection #29: Luke Skywalker: Bespin Duel. Talk about great design!
The ship is packed with electronic sound effects and there are six buttons on the upper hull to activate them. The ones for the ramp, quad cannons and missile are automatic.
The button on the back of the cockpit, when pressed quickly, makes the interior lights come on and the engine flashes along with a malfunctioning hyperdrive sound. If you press the button for longer it cycles through: Han saying "She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts kid.", Han shouting "Chewie get us out of here!" followed by a Wookie roar, Luke saying "What's that flashing?" with the sound of the perimeter sensor, Han saying "We're losing the deflector shield.", Han saying "Go strap yourselves in, I'm going to make the jump to lightspeed.", Han saying "You're all clear kid!", Han saying "Let's blow this thing and go home.", Han saying "Great shot kid, that was one in a million!" and Han saying "Come on! Come on! Switch over, let's hope we don't have a burn out."
There are three buttons on the starboard aft hull. The first, when pressed quickly has the quad cannon blaster sounds. When pressed longer it cycles through: Han saying "Hold them off, angle the deflector shield while I charge up the main guns.", Han saying "Okay, stay sharp.", Han saying "Don't worry, she'll hold together.", Luke saying "Got him, I got him!", Han saying "Great kid - don't get cocky!" and Luke saying "That's it, we did it!"
The middle button when pressed makes the engine start-up noise and take off with the aft lights coming on and the cockpit lights as well.
The last button when pressed makes the same engine noise but makes the flight sound for fractionally longer.
The other two buttons are on the port forward hull. The forward one, when pressed cycles though the following while making the Dejarik table light up: a Wookie roar, R2 talking, R2 talking, Chewie roaring, Han saying "It's not wise to upset a Wookie.", C-3PO saying "I suggest a new strategy Artoo.", C-3PO saying "Let the Wookie win." and Chewie growling. If you hold your finger down it plays the whole conversation.
The aft button, when pressed quickly cycles through the following: Luke saying "With the blast shield down I can't even see, how am I supposed to fight" a lightsabre noise and blasts followed by Ben saying "You see, you can do it." and Ben saying "You've taken your first step into a larger world." If you press it for a few seconds you get C-3PO saying "Artoo come back at once, you don't know how to fix the hyperdrive!" R2 bleeps, the engines start up, R2 screams, C-3PO shouts "You did it!" and the engines run. The lights in the cockpit and engines light up as well.
There are 29 decals to apply and she's ready to go. It's hard to express just how cool this toy is but if you're a Star Wars collector then this is an absolute must! It may have a hefty £150 price tag but at the end of the day it is 100% worth it! I can't stop playing with mine - and I'm 34 years old :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Problems with Falcon, 11 Jan 2009
By M. Yates (England) - See all my reviews

Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
I would have to agree with the other reviews about how good this toy/collectable is. However there are a couple of problems that I have noticed, especially if it is going to be given to a child. The 1st fault is that the hidden compartments/storage areas have gaps. Use a finger inside & you will find some are quite large, making it easy to lose bits inside the hull. Due to the irregular shape, if you lose somthing you will not recover it & it will rattle around inside forever. You might think you could remove a section of hull to access inside, but unfortunately this is not possible, you would have to almost dismantle the entire toy. The main fault is the legs fall off far to easily. They are held in place by a single small pin & wobble, so a slight sideways preasure makes them fall off. Not a problem for a display piece, but when the kids play with it on the floor any knocks to the hull make it collapse. Simplest solution is to remove the legs & bottom turret so it can rest on the hull when being played with , but this prevents use of the ramp & anti-personell laser.
