Does what it says on the tin. If you have a little star wars fan, its excellent. Makes star wars noises, ie power on and power off sounds for the sabre, and casts a bluish light. Probably not interesting enough for an older fan, but for a 5-6 year old it was spot on. Great for when dad is playing star wars computer games, he can join in with his sabre and "help"

When reflecting of the Star Wars franchise, age is something that will rarely hold a fan back from making a purchase of the official goods. Heck, when I got my first 'X-Wing Fighter' at the age of 8, my dad played with it more than me, although I recently re-discovered the toy and it now takes pride of place on MY shelf. So it should be a delight that Mr Lucas (or his team of money makers) one day decided to make a 'torch' from the widely recognised Lightsaber weapon that Jedi's use in the Star Wars universe. Although if you believe in the contradictions of the prequel films, then any Joe Bloggs can just pick up a lightsaber and have an endless fight!
It is what it is - an oversized torch that, as far as we can tell, resembles a Lightsaber 'hilt' from Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith. Comparing it to Anakin's actual weapon in the film, this product is a touch longer which, I'm guessing, is to accommodate all hand sizes and to make the product nice and easy to pick up for younger fans (particularly as the construction is fairly basic). I can't give an accurate measurement because my Jedi measuring tape is broken, and Yoda won't give me another one.
Aside from some simple detailing on various sections of the product, the only other authentic feature is that the LED's glow in a blue colour, which was of course the colour of Anakin's own lightsaber before he became a Sith. According to the films, this lightsaber was then passed down to Luke by Obi Wan (in Episode 4), who gives the young man the weapon and allows him to practically destroy his poor little home from waving it about carelessly.... I've been a star wars fan for along time,and there are alot of light-sabers out there,if your on a budget this is a good prop for a costume and with a little cosmetic work it can look like the real thing,however,try not to take yourself to seriously.

i cannot fault this item. it has fantastic sound effects, the blue light is very bright, and it can withstand quite tough play from a five year old. my son adores it, as do all his friends who come to play.

My 4 year old son is a mad Star Wars fan and he loves it. Not only does he take it to bed practically every night, but plays with it during the day due to the sounds it makes - great value for the amount of time he's played with it.

My two boys - 8 years and 6 years - loved these. The sound effects are great and the quality of the light is very good. My lads have used them a lot to read in bed after lights out. I pretend not notice this, as I don't want to discourage them from reading. So, all good.

I wanted this as part of a fancy dress costume. I had purchased other toy light sabers but they were all oversized.
As this torch is actual size it was perfect and a good price.
Build quality is pretty good. It seems very robust.
The torch is a bit of a gimmick. The light is blue and its not bright enough to be called a propper torch.
However its still a great product, perfect to complete a fancy dress costume and perfect for the kids.

This is great for the money!
Nice heavy/sturdy feel to it, great blue light, that shines in more of a glowing shaft of light, not a regular torch.
Has sound effects too, not really a toy, just a bedtime accessory. Would be good for children that aren't to great in the pitch dark, Could build confidence to by having at side of bed/under pillow in case they need the bathroom in the middle of the night, they get to take their light sabre instead of a normal torch or a harsh light on (or worse not going!)
