Badly Outdated,

There is some quite nice scene setting but to be honest the manual covers most of this fairly well.The problem is the book is riddled with inaccuracies, from the type of XP required for certain profession trees (ref: Commando) to skill mods available for certain professions. It may have been more useful when first published but this book is now (02/06/2004) woefully inaccurate, misleading and unhelpful for a new player. Not only are there significant mistakes in the book (I reckon there is a mistake of one sort or another every other page) further inaccuracies have been created by patches to the game since launch which have changed the gameplay. I suggest getting yourself to some sites like Warcry and the SWG official forums for help and advice on the game until they release an updated version. In short - don't buy it.

A Strategy Guide for a Completely Different Game!,

Thr trouble with this book, is that it was written when SWG was still in the Beta stage.Over the last year, there has been so much development carried out that the game has changed beyond all recognition. There is only ONE element of this book that is reasonably accurate - the location of the profession trainers. Apart from that, all it really does is describe what classes you can take, and that information is available in-game, and way more accurately than this book. As the other review has said, if you want to know how to play SWG (rather than just an extremely inaccurate manual), then go to the many sites available for you. Do not buy this book. To Prima, I say, please please please revise your book! Get a couple of experienced players to do it for you, who have been playing from the start, and make it a truly useful and insightful guide to the world of SWG.

If you like Star Wars, then this is for you. This book helps you to understand the role of the game and helps you to find your way through each level. It doesnt naturlly help you to cheat but it does give you several tips on what to do. I would recommend this to everyone, an definiate must.Its a quick, easy to understand book and shouldnt find it a problem.
