Manufacturer's Description

The saga of Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice, is far from over as the best-selling Star Wars game ever continues along the dark path. Apparently killed at the end of the last game, a new clone of Starkiller has emerged and is being hunted by Darth Vader and the Empire.

Vader's secret apprentice returns to seek revenge
Use two lightsabres at once and dismember enemy troops
Take on enemies many times your size with Force fury
The Force is still your strongest ally in battle

Building on the all-action gameplay of the original you'll be able to take control of one of the most powerful Force users ever seen in the Star Wars universe. Wielding twin lightsabres you can now dismember enemies and use even more powerful Force powers, including mind tricks and the new Force fury.

A new targeting system, more complex puzzles and even the chance to pilot a TIE Fighter create a more varied and nuanced game than its predecessor. With new state-of-the-art graphics and the darkest and most emotional storyline ever in a Star Wars game the Force will definitely need to be with you this time.

Key Features
  • Darth Killer: Set between the prequel and original trilogy, take the role of Darth Vader's errant apprentice as you search for your lost love and seek revenge on your former master.
  • Two for One: Wield dual lightsabres as you fight a more varied range of enemies and take part in unique boss battles with a truly epic scale.
  • Force yourself: Utilise new Force powers such as mind trick - which causes enemies to fight each other - and Force fury to give a boost to all your standard abilities.
  • Deep Space: More involved mission objectives include true puzzle-solving and vehicular combat, including the chance to pilot a TIE Fighter.
  • Special FX: Stunning graphics use state-of-the-art technology including physics engine Havok, motion system Euphoira and material simulator Digital Molecular Matter.
About the Developer: LucasArts
Although they now make far less games internally than they used to, when they were famous for their graphic adventures, LucasArts still has an in-house team to make their own games. Their most recent success has been the The Force Unleashed series, as well as other Star Wars games.

Fun:
I'm a Star Wars fan and I enjoyed the first game. I was looking forward to getting this one, but was sadly disappointed.

What I liked:
- I felt the graphics were better than the first game.
- The targeting in the first one was pretty bad, but they've definitely improved it in this game.
- I couldn't get on with the Force Grip from the first game, but I could use it with ease in this one after the improvements they made.
- I loved the duel lightsabers and how that changed the combos etc. from the first game. I also liked how different colours correspond to a different visual and power effect. Having two lightsabers also allowed you to mix different powers.
- Combat is better in this one.

What I didn't like:
- The game is soooooo short, mainly because the plot is stretched pretty thin for a full game; probably would have been better as a DLC. Starkiller deals with the revelation that he's a clone (a given really considering he's on Kamino) and refuses to do Vader's evil deeds. He spends most of the game trying to find Juno, who is being held captive by Vader. Finding her doesn't take too long.
- Repetition and lack of variety. The levels look very similar and have very similar enemies; you will spend most of the game killing helpless stormtroopers, which is fun at first, boring later. You definitely start to miss the Jedi vs. Jedi boss fights of the first game (one of many things you might miss).
- Vader boss fight was ridiculously long and laborious - kind of thought it was never going to end.
- Due to the game being short you'll find it difficult to get your force powers up to Rank 3.
- Repeating levels to gain extra achievements or missed holocrons etc. might seem tedious considering the blandness of each level.
- Challenges - I totally hate them, because they seem ridiculously hard. Might just be me and my slight lack of speed and coordination, but I just find them incredibly annoying - especially considering you need to get gold in each challenge to collect a second lightsaber crystal. I would have preferred the developers to have spent more time creating a longer story then putting in frustrating challenges.

Overall, I did enjoy some parts of it, but felt that other aspects let it down. I'd wait for the game to go down in price.

Bugger me this is a short one, I'll echo previous reviews and say no more than 5 hours, at the very most. Also narrative is very much in the backseat, which is a pity as the first had a fairly engaging storyline.

Gameplays fun, some awesome set pieces, but no where near enough content to justify the price tag, wait until its on sale or rent it.

Was really looking forward to this game as I really enjoyed the first one.

Picked up a copy yesterday and started playing last night, played about an hour this morning then stuck it on again tonight and bam, job done? No more than 5 hours playing time tops. So short and so very similar to the first that this could (and maybe should) have been released as DLC.

A bit disappointing, never before have I traded a completed game within a day or so of it's release!

Disappointing
The game is short. I completed it in one session. There is so little of it. The levels, the customisation, it's a real bare minimum effort.

It's repetitive. Read more
