Product Description

Synopsis

Han Solo confronts a new rival for Princess Leia's affections in the person of Prince Isolder, who will ally the sixty-three high-tech worlds of the Hapes Consortium with the New Republic, if Leia will marry him.

From the Back Cover

Darth Vader and the Emperor are dead, but the Empire lives on and the Alliance must continue the struggle with dwindling supplies of cash and resources. Princess Leia, seeking rich, powerful allies to bring into the Alliance and a new planet as a home for the influential refugees of Alderaan, considers a proposal that could tip the balance of power against the evil Empire.

The Hapes consortium, a cluster of sixty-three high-tech worlds, is ruled by the Queen Mother, who wants Leia to marry her son, the dashing and wealthy Prince Isolder. When Han Solo hears the news of Leia's impending nuptials, he reacts with shock. Han always dreamed of marrying Leia himself, but in spite of his heroic exploits he feels she sees him as nothing more than a shiftless rogue and pirate, unworthy of her hand. Now he makes a desperate last gamble to win her back. Tricking Leia into accompanying him, Han flees with her to the beautiful and untamed planet Dathomir, where he hopes to win her heart.

Fearing the imperious queen's reaction to Han's rash move, Luke Skywalker forms an unlikely alliance with Prince Isolder to track down the runaways. But as he, Artoo, and Isolder set off to Dathomir, Luke little suspects that it is the beginning of an adventure that will lead to the discovery of an awesome treasure, a group of Force-trained 'witches'...and a showdown with an invincible foe. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete trash!!, 13 April 2005
I've read most of the Starwars novels and this is one of the worst books ever written. The plot of this book is complete useless and I couldn't wait to reach the end of the book. You can quess exactly what is going to happen, and it is a boring slog from start to finish.

The idea of Han kidnapping Leia to get her to love him is dumb as she already loves him, and no one else could come between them in other novels. Another thing is the idea of a planet full of force sensitive witches and Rancors as their pets.

If I had known how boring and useless his book was I wouldn't have wasted money on it. Avoid it if you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book but..., 13 Aug 1999
By A Customer
This is a good book. I do have some problems with it though.

There must be hundreds of force strong people liveing on Dathomir. Why dont we hear about them before hand?

At the end of the book, Luke finds all those records. They were never mentioned again. Why?

Leia is NOT the kind of person who goes running away from the person she loves because her knight in shinig armor comes along. She never would have dumped Han because Isolder came along.

Aside from those things, the book is excellent. I would reccomend it to anyone who likes Star Wars.
