but it's standing as part of a trilogy makes it all the more fascinating. this reader for one cannot wait to hear from the author again and read the next instalment. the only criticism is its lack of connection to the movies. Vader is present as the only link b but really adds little - it could be any villain from any era or Any galaxy.. a good read in spite of being from a galaxy far away along time ago and not because of it.

This story is hard to explain. it's a good story about a jedi called jax who comes to work for the underground organisation that takes people off the city world just after the jedi purge takes place and a bit of a 1930's detective mystery. It's a very good story

This first book of the series is blindingly fast paced, set on Imperial Center, and introduces a group of disparate being who must stay one step ahead of the Imperials, led by Darth Vader himself! READ IT!

If you're a fan of mysteries and the Star Wars world then this is going to be the book for you. Set in the time of the newly formed Empire and told from numerous points of view the tale does spin an interesting yarn, however what hasn't been done so well with the book is the concentration span with the author virtually smacking the reader over the head with the plot along with bland characters who rather than having so many would have perhaps benefited more with development to enable emotional hooks with the reader. A real shame as the premise was very interesting.
