My young nephew desperately wanted a lightsabre for his birthday. When I ordered these from Amazon I made the mistake of assuming that all lightsabres these days were electronic with lights and sound. Sadly, these are not. There is a button that you press down to release the telescopic "blade" and if you flick your wrist the blade extends. And that's about all there is to it. No lights. No sound.
I want to make it clear that I wasn't mis-sold the product. The product description in no way claims that these are electronic - I just wronly asumed that they would be. These lightsabres do have their merits though - they are very robust and because they're not electronic they're all weather and bath friendly too. However if you're looking for electronic lightsabres, or even the non-electronic ones with the spring loaded blade, these are not the lightsabres you are looking for.
