This final book in the Trilogy is the best. It brings together the great characters introduced in the first two books and describes their relationships brilliantly. The New Jedi Knights are a great addition to the Star Wars Universe.

Ive read the other two volumes before this one and by the end of the second book I was really wraped in the story but whan I came to this book it finished of the storyline but it did not have that sparkle like the other two. I am glad I brought it because it is nice to have the trilogy.I have also read Darksaber which is an exclant book. If you know which book comes after Darksaber will you let me know? Thanks. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU WHEN YOU BE STAR WARS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST!

I read 'Darksaber' before I read this and it was a masterpiece of Hutt double-dealing, Imperial resurgence and Jedi mastery. So, obviously, Iwas expecting great things from his Jedi Academy trilogy. What I got was three mediocre yarns in which Daala, the Imperial master-warlord from Darksaber, shows herself to be a complete incompetent. Pretty disappointing all round.

It doesn't keep the punch
I really enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, it just had a great flow and made you want to read. My one disappointment was the third book lacks this. Read more

this book was written by an obsessive-compulsive shut-in.
this series of books are awful. Why? Because a)the plots suck-there are contrived plot twists and melodrama galore; b) the characterizations are pathetic-are we supposed to... Read more

an ok book
This book was good, a good end to the jedi academy trilogy, Exar Kun is written very well. Kyp is the best part of the novel.

Does nothing to salvage the previous two books...
I'll get right to it: the problem here, is that Anderson writes novels with plots worthy of comic books. Depth, complexity, introspection, dimension are all foreign to him. Read more

Good but not great
Though it contained a lot of action, this book was a big disappointment in that the dark Jedi was defeated so easily and quickly early on. The battle seemed unrealistic. Read more

Finishes the trilogy like he started it -- poorly.
A complete waste of time. See my reviews of the first two volumes of this trilogy to read my rantings and ravings. Tell me why everything must come as a "trilogy" now. Read more

I like this book, and the series
I really do like this book.. and the series.. in my opinion, better than Zahn's stuff. I like the flow of the story and the cliffhangers at the end of each book.
