but sadly, it has pretty much lost its charm in this edition. its a very flimsy plasticboard, with a cheapy cardboard insert at the top for your characters.it feels light and breakable to me. if they had made this in the original board it would have rocked!!
for anyone who DOES remember it the first time round, you might come away feeling undercut for your buck
My son (Star Wars fanatic) at first thought it was great, but soon got very frustrated with it. You have to choose your own character at the top, the flaps go sideways & you end up knocking others down, & not all the pictures are clear. All in all very disappointing. Belongs in the 99p bargain box.
so all in all its ok!!! but they have economised too much for our liking- seems bit cheap.saying that my son is quite happy playing with it still.
Why!!! What craziness/ manufacturers laziness is this? Couldn't they make the frame without those little plastic bits?
Having inserted the card, the frame then sits flat on the table and the card promptly dropped down at the top end, necessitating a fix so the card would stay in place.
Since the frame sits flat on the table the character chosen can be seen by the opponent, so now it needed to be propped up.
The doors open sideways and are all too easily knocked down during play, so the game is a frequent washout, resulting in great disappointment for the players.
The characters at the top are far too small for the younger players to distinguish the features easily and as all the characters are there together rather than one on a separate card there is frequent confusion as to which one was chosen.
The original version of this game by MB Games is far better in all respects - stronger frame, separate cards for the chosen character, doors opening upwards and much clearer pictures.
I plan to photocopy these pictures and insert them into my old Guess Who frames so the game can be played properly.
The old version was a lot cheaper too. Hasbro would have got a zero from me for quality if Amazon had given us the option to do so. Likewise zero for ruining the fun of the game and diminishing the educational value.
I use the game for vocabulary development for my ESL students and the old version is a big hit. This one so far has been an exercise in frustration.
