The Star Trek movies are sure to continue entertaining people long after we have all left. This box set provides an excellent opportunity to own part of the Star Trek experience. The presentation of these videos makes them perfect to display in a collection or have on your video shelf.
It's a shame that those without widscreen TV's can't obtain it in thus formatt, however, it losses none of the charm that the movies have. The only other drawback is that the more recent films are not in it and you may choose to wait for a more inclusive set, although there is sure to be many more film releases even after this and how long can you keep waiting.
For Star Trek fans the documentry/history video is worth a watch but it may contain much that you already know. Those who know nothing about the Treking universe will no doubt enjoy learning about the many informal nuggetts that can be gainned from this.
You can't go wrong owning part of the Star Trek univese and I'm sure if you purchase this item you won't regrett the choice.

I am enjoying watching these. They are basically "old" series Star Trek films. One of the cassettes is a "celebration of star trek" ie not an actual movie - so I skipped that mostly (some may enjoy this kind of thing) except I was really wowed by the story told by the actress Nichelle Nichols, who plays Lieutenant Uhura. She described how she was going to quit the series early on and had given Gene Rodenberry notice, but was talked into staying on by a fan - none less than Martin Luther King who said to her that her role was so important - being the only non-stereotyped black woman on American TV - and how it was the only TV programme that he and Mrs King would let the children watch! She carried on for some considerable time.
This "non-film" cassette is compensated by the fact 2 of the other cassettes have double bills ie 2 films on one cassette, so you are getting pretty good value for money.
It is great if you have not seen the films before - and pretty good if you have - especially if like me you can't remember very well how they went!
